This is a book authored by Rodolfo Acuna.
In it he tries to relate American history in perspective of the American "victos" schoolbook version of history and compares it to the actual happenings of the times.
He References actual journals and logs as well as published media from the times to try to paint a more historically accurate picture of the experience of Chianos or Mexican-Americans in the United States.
While he does a great job at referencing and documenting his sources and putting a different side to the story than most people are used to reading, he does sometimes coma across as angry and at times overly so.
Even so, it is a book that presents some very good experiences and events in history that were typically only taught from a very one sided and often biased history that the "standard" history books have provided before.
